Give Kids A Chance derives most of the its funding from an annual golf tournament held at La Gorce Country Club in Miami Beach, Florida. The event is typically held in November each year and generates approximately 75% of the revenue raised by the fund in furtherance of its charitable goals.
In addition to this fund raising activity, various high school organizations sell professionally designed rubber bracelets featuring the name of the charity accompanied by the Give Kids A Chance logo. Annual Contributors are also made by individuals and companies who have made commitments to personally fund one four year, $1,000/year college scholarship.

GIVE KIDS A CHANCE AWARDS 20 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
Miami - October 21, 2009 - Stearns Weaver Miller attorney Brian McDonough will host the 6th Annual Give Kids A Chance Golf Tournament on Monday, November 2, 2009 at LaGorce Country Club in Miami Beach.
Give Kids A Chance is a charitable foundation that McDonough organized to provide college scholarships to high school students from low-income families. Earlier this year the organization awarded college scholarships to 20 high school seniors throughout Florida. The award recipients were selected from more than 200 applicants throughout the State of Florida.
McDonough, whose legal practice focuses primarily on the affordable housing industry, founded Give Kids A Chance several years ago to help lower-income students defray the costs of attending college. The students may re-apply each year for additional assistance with college expenses. Since its inception in 2004, the charity has awarded over 140 four-year scholarships to deserving high school seniors throughout the State of Florida.
"It is such a thrill to be giving scholarships to these hardworking students," McDonough said. "The most difficult task we face each year is choosing the most deserving recipients from several hundred applicants."
The 6th Annual Give Kids A Chance Golf Tournament will be held at La Gorce Country Club in Miami Beach on Monday, November 2, 2009. The co-hosts of the event are Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A., and FPL.
